Independent neighbourhood guide
Larchmont Skin Guide
An independent neighbourhood guide to skin and aesthetic treatment, written from Larchmont for the people who live in and around it.
Larchmont is a small place with a long memory. The village is a few walkable blocks, the houses of Hancock Park sit behind it, and the same faces pass on the pavement week after week.
That closeness changes how people talk about skin. Nobody wants to look done. Everybody wants to look rested.
And the question asked quietly over coffee is always the same: who is good, and how would I know? This guide exists to answer the second half.
We are a small group of neighbours who write about skin and aesthetic treatment for readers who live here or nearby. We do not treat anyone and we do not sell anything.
We read the evidence, we sit in on consultations as patients, and we write down what a careful reader should ask before a name goes in the diary.
The guides fall into two groups. The first is about the face itself: lines and folds, lost volume in the cheeks, skin that has stopped holding moisture, the neck, the area under the eyes.
The second is about choosing well: what a skin clinic in Larchmont or the streets around it should be able to tell you, how fillers and peels work, and how skin tone changes the choice.
The luxury stance runs through both. We assume you would rather have one treatment chosen carefully than three chosen from a menu.
Our neighbourhood sits inside the area served by The Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council, and the local rhythm shapes the advice.
A peel is easier to time around a quiet week than around a wedding, and a recovering face prefers a dim gallery to a Saturday on the boulevard.
Downtown, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center keeps a calendar of exhibitions and a shaded garden that suit a face that should not meet the sun.
Readers who work east of us often ask about clinics near their offices.
The member directory kept by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is a starting list and nothing more. Membership is not a credential.
Readers who prefer to give a recovery week to something useful sometimes ask about the certified farmers markets.
SEE-LA, the group behind them, posts the market schedule, and an early, shaded stall is easier on healing skin than the midday boulevard.
When we name a practice, it is as an example you can check against our questions, never as an endorsement. One practice readers hold up against those questions is My Aesthetic Doctor, which offers injectables, thread lifts and laser work in Los Angeles.
The about page explains how we work and what we will not say.
If you are new to all of this, read the lines, volume and firmness hub first. It explains what changes in a face and why.
Then read the clinic hub before you book. If you already have a consultation in the diary, the clinic hub alone will make it a better one.
Larchmont Skin Guide is an independent publication and not a medical practice. Nothing here is medical advice, and every decision about treatment belongs in a consultation with a licensed clinician.
